Project Overview
In a joint effort to support economic empowerment, N4ED and FINBIT launched a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen the financial and entrepreneurial capacity of mothers engaged in microbusinesses. By combining N4ED’s community-based approach with FINBIT’s data-driven financial tools, the project delivers practical solutions for business-running mothers in peri-urban areas.
Objectives / Goals
The partnership seeks to enhance financial literacy, promote digital financial inclusion, and support the growth of small businesses run by women. The long-term aim is to establish a replicable, sustainable support model that enables mothers to manage their finances more effectively and expand their income-generating activities.
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
The primary beneficiaries are mothers from low-income, peri-urban communities who are managing microbusinesses and often face barriers to financial education and business development support.
Methodology / Approach
The project integrates digital financial literacy training, individualized support, and access to FINBIT’s user-friendly financial tools. Mothers were also supported through N4ED’s business development framework, which helped them launch or strengthen small-scale enterprises. Regular follow-up and coaching ensure practical application of skills learned.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
The program has led to the successful establishment and stabilization of women-led microbusinesses. Beneficiaries have reported improved confidence in financial planning and decision-making, increased business income, and greater economic resilience. The digital tools offered by FINBIT have also facilitated more structured record-keeping and financial tracking.
Time
The partnership was implemented in 2024, with outcomes continuing into 2025 as the program expands to new beneficiaries.
Donor / Sponsored
This initiative is jointly implemented and supported by N4ED and FINBIT.
