Project Overview (Introduction)
ALIVE is an annual mass sport event in Addis Ababa that promotes conscious living, family bonding, and community well-being through dance, movement, and joyful engagement. Organized with Hawi Dance Fitness & Entertainment, it fosters unity, encourages healthy lifestyles, and mobilizes support for vulnerable children and mothers through the Integrated Child Development Center.
Objectives / Goals
To encourage healthy lifestyles, strengthen community ties, and raise funds for the Integrated Child Development Center, which supports vulnerable children and mothers.
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
Community members of all ages—families, children, youth, and adults—who come together to enjoy inclusive, health-focused activities in a vibrant, supportive atmosphere.
Methodology / Approach
The event features mass dance fitness sessions, healthy food stalls, and engaging activities for kids. It is co-led by volunteers and fitness experts, creating an accessible space for everyone to participate, connect, and contribute.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
ALIVE inspires healthier habits, deepens community engagement, and mobilizes resources for social impact. It fosters joy, unity, and ongoing support for child development initiatives.
Timeline
The first ALIVE event took place on Sunday, December 8, 2024. It is planned as an annual event, with preparations already underway for the next edition.
