Project Overview (Introduction)
During the Ethiopian New Year celebration, Flipper International School’s Summit branch hosted a heartwarming fundraising event titled “Kids Giving for Kids” in support of N4ED’s Integrated Child Development Center. The event was part of the school’s broader “School Vibe” initiative.
Objectives / Goals
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
The main beneficiaries of the event were vulnerable children and families who will be served by the Integrated Child Development Center. The event also positively impacted students, fostering empathy and civic responsibility.
Methodology / Approach
Students participated by singing traditional New Year’s songs – “Abebayehu – Woy” and “Hoyahoye”—to raise funds. The school community, including teachers and staff, collaborated in organizing and running the event as part of the celebration.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
The event not only raised funds but also inspired a sense of community, cultural pride, and compassion among the students. It strengthened the school’s relationship with N4ED and created momentum for future collaborative efforts.
