Project Overview
As part of our broader income generation initiative, N4ED has supported a small group of three mothers in launching a sheep farming business. This effort aims to diversify livelihood opportunities for women and create a reliable source of income through sustainable livestock practices.
Objectives / Goals
The primary goal is to enable vulnerable mothers to build a stable, independent economic future by engaging in manageable, scalable agricultural activities like sheep farming.
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
The direct beneficiaries are three mothers participating in N4ED’s economic empowerment program, selected based on their interest and capacity to manage a livestock business.
Methodology / Approach
N4ED provided initial training, startup resources, and technical support. The sheep were distributed along with guidance on care, feeding, and veterinary follow-up. The mothers work collectively to manage the flock, ensuring shared responsibility and mutual support.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
The birth of two healthy lambs is a promising start, with more expected soon. This growth strengthens the herd and contributes to long-term sustainability. The project is already generating a sense of ownership, pride, and economic optimism among the mothers involved.
Time
This project was launched as part of our ongoing economic empowerment efforts during the 2023–2024 implementation period
