Project Overview
N4ED is excited to expand its growing partnership with Setaweet through a new collaborative effort under their “Movement Building” project. This initiative builds on our existing referral connection through Alegnta, Setaweet’s hotline service, and now focuses on empowering one of our mothers’ groups through gender-focused community engagement and economic support.
Objectives / Goals
The project aims to strengthen women’s voices, foster peer support and sisterhood, address deeply rooted gender norms, and support economic independence by combining safe spaces, training, and financial resources.
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
The primary beneficiaries are members of one of our mothers’ groups—women who are part of N4ED’s socio-economic reintegration program and are seeking both personal and financial empowerment.
Methodology / Approach
Setaweet facilitates women’s circles and safe spaces that promote open dialogue and solidarity. The project includes gender training sessions that challenge harmful cultural beliefs, while also providing seed capital to support small business ventures initiated by the group members.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
The partnership is enhancing participants’ awareness of gender equity, building their confidence, and improving their economic resilience. By fostering both mindset shifts and income-generating capacity, the initiative contributes to lasting personal and community transformation.
Time
The collaboration began in 2023.
Donor / Sponsored
This project is supported by Setaweet under their “Movement Building” initiative, including financial and technical contributions that directly benefit the selected women’s group.
