Project Overview (Introduction)
In line with our growing commitment to a holistic Early Childhood Development (ECD) approach, N4ED partnered with Dallol Creative Arts and the Nifas Silk Lafto W12 Health Center to establish an ECD corner. This dedicated space offers playful stimulation for children under five while promoting developmental monitoring and caregiver education within a public health setting.
Objectives / Goals
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
Children aged 0–5 visiting the NSL W12 Health Center and their caregivers. Health professionals also benefit through enhanced methods to assess and support early development.
Methodology / Approach
Volunteers from N4ED, Dallol Creative Arts, and the health center co-designed and set up an ECD corner using creative, handmade materials. Pediatric staff use the space to engage children during health visits and coach caregivers on home-based play techniques that foster developmental progress.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
The ECD corner offers a safe, engaging environment for child development support within the clinic. It fosters joyful learning for children and empowers caregivers to become active participants in their child’s early development using accessible, low-cost resources.
