Enjera Business – Group A, Wereda 9 Torhailoch Area

Project Overview (Introduction):
In Torhailoch area, Group A of Wereda 9 N4ED’s mothers’ program proudly inaugurated their own working space for producing and selling enjera. The new space is equipped with both modern and traditional enjera-making stoves, along with a dedicated preparation area and a selling point. This milestone event was celebrated in the presence of one of our donors, the Australian Embassy, as well as local stakeholders from Kolfe Keranio Sub-city Woreda 9.

Objectives / Goals:

Support mothers in establishing a sustainable enjera business.

Improve economic independence through entrepreneurship.

Provide high-quality, affordable enjera for the local community.

Target Audience / Beneficiaries:
Mothers participating in N4ED’s livelihood programs in Torhailoch area, and local residents seeking freshly made enjera.

Methodology / Approach:
N4ED worked with local authorities to secure the working space and equipped it with enjera-making facilities. Financial support from donors covered the purchase of modern stoves and initial setup. Training and business guidance were provided to help Group A efficiently manage production and sales.

Impact / Expected Outcomes:

Creation of a steady income for Group A Wereda 9 members.

Increased access to fresh, affordable enjera in the community.

Strengthened entrepreneurial capacity for long-term sustainability.
