Project Overview:
N4ED’s Wereda 4 – Zenebework group began their enjera-making business in March 2025, following months of effort to secure a suitable workspace. This group of resilient mothers is now equipped and operating thanks to the support of EthiopiAid and Australia Embassy. The initiative is part of our ongoing effort to promote self-reliance and economic security among vulnerable women.
Objectives / Goals:
Support mothers in generating consistent income
Strengthen community nutrition through traditional food products
Foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among marginalized women
Target Audience / Beneficiaries:
Mothers enrolled in N4ED’s programs in Wereda 4 Kolfe keranio sub city, identified as economically vulnerable and seeking sustainable enjera making business.
Methodology / Approach:
Participants received capacity building in personal and food hygiene, basic book keeping, and enjera-making techniques. With the setup of a dedicated production space, the group now produces enjera for sale in local markets and through informal distribution networks.
