Overview (Introduction):
The Nutritious Meal Classes were led by Magda Tedla from Magda’s Food Program and supported by Temsalet Kitchen, Sishu Burger, Dok Restaurant, and African Mosaïque. The sessions combined culinary education with fundraising, supporting N4ED’s initiative to open a child care center focused on early childhood nutrition and care.
Objectives / Goals:
The main goal was to educate participants on preparing healthy meals while raising funds for the planned Child Care Center, which aims to provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment with nutritious meals for children aged 6 months to school age.
Target Audience:
The classes were designed for adults interested in learning about nutritious cooking, with one special session tailored for children to engage them early in healthy food habits.
Impact / Expected Outcomes:
Over the course of three weeks, eight sessions for adults and one for children raised awareness about child nutrition and contributed financially toward establishing a new child care service. The program fostered community involvement and highlighted the critical role of nutrition in child development.
