Economic Empowerment of women through Micro-Enterprises to Covid-19

Project Overview and Objectives
In response to the economic impact of COVID-19, this closed project aimed to economically empower vulnerable mothers through the launch of sustainable micro-enterprises. By combining technical support, financial assistance, and capacity building, the initiative supported women’s return to economic independence.

Target Audience / Beneficiaries
Mothers affected by COVID-19 restrictions, particularly those already engaged in N4ED programs.

Methodology / Approach
Beneficiaries selected a business sector and joined sub-groups to co-develop business plans, which were reviewed by N4ED. In collaboration with local authorities, access to rent-free or low-cost business spaces was facilitated. Women also contributed seed capital, received business refresher courses, and underwent follow-up to ensure long-term success.

Impact / Expected Outcomes
The project strengthened financial resilience, boosted women’s confidence, and enabled sustainable small businesses.
