Project Overview and Objectives
Launched in July 2019, this program aims to reach young mothers and fathers with essential health and nutrition guidance during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and early childhood. It seeks to improve family health outcomes through decentralized, institution-based outreach.
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
Young parents, especially mothers and fathers, attending health institutions and community centers across Addis Ababa.
Methodology / Approach
Implemented in partnership with volunteer health professionals, the program delivers nutrition education and support at trusted community sites. Starting at Nigat Charity Organization, it expanded to St. Paul Hospital (Michuu Clinic), International Samaritan, and SSCM, with additional regional sites under preparation.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
Improved nutritional practices among young families during critical child development phases and stronger institutional collaboration for outreach.
