Project Overview and Objectives
In October 2019, N4ED hosted a two-week training in collaboration with Kansas State University, IREX, and the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa. The training aimed to equip health professionals with leadership skills and practical nutrition knowledge to improve community health outcomes.
Target Audience / Beneficiaries
90 participants, including health extension workers, service providers, and local decision-makers from three partner health centers.
Methodology / Approach
Delivered by Dr. Sandra Procter (Kansas State University) and Hiwot Amare (N4ED), the training covered key topics linking nutrition and leadership—such as maternal nutrition, the first 1,000 days, healthy diets, adaptive challenges, and values-based leadership.
Impact / Expected Outcomes
Participants committed to applying the concepts in their work, mentoring peers, and influencing community nutrition practices by leading from within.
